OES (Optimal Engineering Systems) released a new series of dual-axis high precision Alpha-Beta Stages capable of rotating an object around a fixed point in space on a spherical surface. The AK150-10-15-01 Dual-axis Goniometer Stepper Motor driven stage features +/- 0.01 degrees Repeatability, 0.05 degrees accuracy and 0.0006 degrees resolution with a 10 micro step-per-step Microstepping driver. Greater precision and faster travel speeds can be achieved with the Servo Motor options in this series of goniometer stages. The Height of Rotation Center is 120mm.
The AK150-10-15 Series of Dual-axis Goniometers has four motor options. Option -01 is Stepper Motor Driven with knobs for manual adjustments. Option -02 is driven by Three-Phase Brushless DC Servo Motors with Quadrature Optical Encoders, and option -03 is Brushed DC Servo Motor Driven with Quadrature Optical Encoders. Option -04 is Stepper Motor Driven with the knobs replaced with Quadrature Optical Encoders for position verification.
The alpha (lower) axis features +/- 10 degrees of travel and the beta (upper) axis has +/- 15 degrees of travel. The 120mm-by-120mm table has a precision pattern of threaded holes for mounting cameras, lasers, mirrors, tooling, and fixtures weighing up to 5.5kg. Typically, Alpha-Beta Goniometer Stages can be for used for: Identifying crystals, examining cutting edges of medical instruments, estimating hyperspectral bidirectional reflectance, gloss measurements, measurements of radiation patterns of LEDs, directing lasers, aligning mirrors, and manufacturing quartz oscillator plates using quartz cutting X-rays.
Each axis features End-of-Travel limit switches and pre-loaded crossed roller guides. The lower stage features a ground high precision 420:1 worm gear and the upper axis a 300:1 ratio worm gear. The footprint of the Ak150-10-15-01 Alpha-Beta Stage is just 169mm by 169mm. These stages require a Motion Controller that can be ordered as a complete Plug-and-Play system with RS-232, USB, joystick, trackball, and keypad control.
