Hubble is a survivor. Withstanding the intense forces of a rocket launch and the rigors of orbiting earth for almost three decades, this telescope continues to capture images as far as 15 billion light-years away.

In 1990 our bearings helped launch and guide Discovery, the space shuttle that transported and deployed Hubble, and in 2009, astronauts used specialized tools—equipped with Timken? thin section precision ball bearings—to repair and improve the telescope. Experts estimated the overhaul would give Hubble another six years of life. It’s still going strong.
