Schaeffler Rollers with Profiled Ends Serve 15% Longer

Schaeffler spherical roller bearings have become 15% more durable due to rollers with profiled ends.

The Schaeffler Group consistently introduces new rolling elements in all spherical roller bearings of the 241 series with a bore diameter of 500 mm and above. The changes will affect all series of bearings with the X-life quality mark, which marks the products of the INA and FAG brands with ultrahigh performance. Compared with traditional counterparts, such products have increased resistance to stress and a longer service life.

New cylindrical rollers are characterized by improved profiling of the end edges with optimized geometry, which makes them much more durable when used.

Spherical roller bearings with regular shaped rollers exhibit increased material wear. Bearings with profiled rollers have a marginal pressure reduced by 20%, and the service life is increased to 15%, which leads to an increase in the operational reliability of the equipment.

The new roller bearings with face profiling retain all the characteristics of their predecessors, including an optimized internal design with increased bearing capacity, improved surface quality and a floating central rib, which effectively reduces friction.
