The Trade Union Agreement with ABB Provides for the Departure of 43 People from the Córdoba factory

In the early hours of the morning, the members of the ABB multinational company committee and the company's executives have reached a principle of agreement that attempts to mitigate the Employment Regulation File (ERE) that fly over the workforce of This important Cordoba factory. The agreement will have to be endorsed in a vote by the ABB staff, meeting in assembly on the 30th.


As reported by the works council, the final result of the negotiation is that a maximum number of 49 contract terminations will be carried out, of which six are from the Galindo work center and 43 from the work center of Cordova.


On paper, the unions have made the company agree to increase the number of workers who can take advantage of early retirement, and thus avoid dramatic situations such as dismissals of younger staff. In fact, we work with these early retirements being voluntary.


Another agreement has to do with a relocation plan for workers in other ABB production centers and the third one that guarantees the financing to maintain the factory in Córdoba.


ABB's last offer to workers went through a maximum of 49 layoffs between the plants in Córdoba and the Basque Country, in addition to offering voluntary leave, early retirement for workers from 55 years of age and indeminations for the 50-day dismissals per year worked, with the cap of 42 monthly payments. The maximum compensation is set at 150,000 euros gross.


CCOO values the mobilizations carried out by the workforce and the negotiation carried out by the members of the works council with its president Jesús Villegas (CCOO) in front.


CCOO also values the support received by the citizens of Cordoba, as well as by the institutions, political parties and social organizations in defense of Industry and quality employment in Córdoba.


This agreement must be ratified in assembly. For this, it will be presented to the general assembly of workers that will be convened tomorrow July 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Acceptance of this pre-agreement will be put to the vote on the 30th.
