ABB does not give up. It is the message that has been made clear in the demonstration that this Monday the workers of the factory from Córdoba, clothed by about 3,000 people, have staged a tour of the center of the capital in which they have shown that they will not accept the closure of a production line and the 49 dismissals announced by the company.

"We have been called Cenemesa, Westinghouse and for almost 30 years, ABB. We are part of a symbol within the industrial landscape of this city since 1930. " And that symbol, embodied today in the workers who are facing layoffs, does not give up. Trade unions for dialogue with the company

The elimination of the line of switches that ABB has announced at the Córdoba plant is, for workers and unions, a viable line. This is what the general secretaries of UGT and CCOO, Vicente Palomares and Marina Borrego, respectively, have defended in order to defend quality employment in this company in Córdoba.

"It is an inadmissible ERE", Palomares said, to point out that the unions are willing to propose dialogue and solutions before the company, to put on the table the future of the factory in Cordoba and the 49 families who are pending the dismissals Advertised "We ask ABB for flexibility and meeting," he asked.

"They are young workers, with an average age of 40 years and all the future ahead", Borrego has outlined, to point out the idea that it is necessary to fight for the jobs of this factory that is part of the historic industry of Córdoba.

Bellido and Fuentes greet an ABB worker

With those claims, with the "No to ERE in ABB. No dismissal will be accepted "from the banner, there have been institutional and political representatives, with the mayor, José María Bellido, at the head, together with councilors from all the City Council groups -PP, Citizens, PSOE, IU, Podemos and Vox- , in addition to other positions as parliamentarians, deputies and senators from Cordoba.

This demonstration was the great mobilization that the workers and unions had prepared within the calendar of protests that have been developing since the company announced the ERE and its dreaded consequences. Strikes and stoppages in the factory last week, a protest call this Monday to call the mobilization to the citizenship or the assistance of the workers of ABB to the Plenary Session of the City Council to make visible if there have been some of the mobilizations they have done.

Beyond that, movements in the offices. Hand in hand with the unions, the workers have sought the complicity and action of the Cordovan institutions and also of the Junta de Andalucía, to put pressure on the company, offer alternatives and prevent the dismissal of the 49 workers of the plant in Cordoba. This same Monday, it was also known that the Ministries of Industry and Employment would maneuver before the company to avoid layoffs.
