Timken Co. expanding Union County facility





Timken Tyger River, manufacturer of bearings and bearing components, is acquiring new equipment and machinery to increase capacity at its Union County facility. The project is expected to bring more than $2.5 million in capital investment to expand operations and industrial growth. 




“Investing in our people, the community and state of the art technology has been critical to the long-term success of our plant in a globally competitive marketplace,” said Bob Hart, Timken Tyger River plant manager, in a news release. “Our plant has been a part of this community for over 52 years, and we sincerely appreciate the leadership, support and partnership approach to doing business as we all strive to make Union County a strong community to live and work in.”



The Timken Tyger River plant is a 350,000-square-foot building at 408 Industrial Drive in Union. The manufacturer has operated in Union County for more than 50 years and supplies over 17,000 different bearings components to industrial customers worldwide, according to the release.
