ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport Takes Momentum to Monaco
After races in Asia, Africa and South and Central America, this weekend (May 13) Formula E stops off in Europe for the first time in the 2016/2017 season. The venue for the fifth of twelve rounds is Monaco.
The ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport team travels to Monaco with great confidence. After his first win of the season in the last round in Mexico City, Lucas di Grassi is now only five points adrift from the top of the table in overall second place. Teammate Daniel Abt from Kempten has improved to seventh position after his third points-finish in a row. In the team rankings, ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport occupy second place.
Formula E will hold a race on the 1.765 kilometer-long Circuit de Monaco for the second time after the electro racing series’ 2014/2015 debut season. The principality on the French Mediterranean is the second smallest state in the world at just two square kilometers in area, but it also boasts the highest population density. Urban mobility and space-saving means of transport are thus all the more relevant here, such as the E-Board recently presented by Schaeffler at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) or the Bio hybrid concept prototype, designed as a combination of a pedelec and a small electro-vehicle, built for short-distance use in an urban environment.
In Formula E, the entire race day – free practice, qualifying and race – take place within a few hours. Daniel Abt and Lucas di Grassi get underway on Saturday, May 13, at 8.00 a.m., and the race starts at 4 p.m. Schaeffler will also present the Formula E magazine, which will be shown on Eurosport at 10 p.m. on May 22.
