Schaeffler showcases Oil & Gas tech innovations at OTC 2017

OTC is the world’s premier event for the development of offshore resources in the fields of drilling, exploration and production.



Visitors to booth 6543 will experience an array of highly engineered, cutting-edge products that represent the culmination of Schaeffler’s many decades of experience as an OEM supplier to the oil & gas industry. Every Schaeffler product on display has been designed to ensure maximum performance and reliability of critical applications such as drilling platform top drives, sheaves and draw-works.

Among the highlights: Schaeffler will showcase its advanced Frac Pump Mainshaft Bearing in X-life quality that features optimized capacity for improved frac pump reliability. Schaeffler will also exhibit its class-leading Mud Motor Stack Bearing that combines ease of mounting with exceptional axial load carrying capacity, along with the innovative FAG Sealed Sheave Bearing in X-life quality whose five years of maintenance-free protection dramatically reduces maintenance requirements and costs while significantly improving operational safety on virtually all drilling rigs.

X-life represents Schaeffler’s seal of quality for exceptionally efficient products. X-life bearings feature superfinished raceway surfaces that reduce friction, enhance reliability and extend operating life.

Other innovations on display include TriondurC, Schaeffler’s proprietary carbon-based coating system that protects against adhesive wear; SmartCheck/SmartGateway, a breakthrough condition-monitoring system that fits in the palm of your hand; and an extensive selection of tapered, cylindrical, angular contact and needle roller bearings that have been optimized for equipment used to extract crude oil and natural gas.
