Inpro/Seal introduces the VB45-S Bearing Isolator

Sealing solutions provider, Inpro/Seal, a Waukesha Bearings business, has launched its latest Bearing Isolator, the VB45-S, the next generation in a 40-year line of products which extend bearing life.

Inpro/Seal first invented the Bearing Isolator in 1977 and it changed the pump industry because of the way it extended bearing life by increasing protection against contamination ingress and lubrication loss. The original Bearing Isolator, a simple two-piece design, consisted of a rotor and stator interface to keep contaminants from entering the bearing housing. Over the past 40 years, Inpro/Seal has continued to drive the standard in Bearing Isolator technology.

The VB45-S Bearing Isolator provides permanent bearing protection to rotating equipment with premium protection against contamination ingress and lubrication loss. The VB45-S uses Inpro/Seal’s patented XX Interface coupled with an enlarged contamination chamber to achieve an IP66 rating, the standard for premium ingress protection against both harmful dust particulates and powerful water jets from all directions. For a higher level of protection against lubrication loss, the VB45-S utilizes an enlarged D-Groove to capture oil and return it back to the bearing housing or a grease band to block grease from traveling down the shaft and escaping from the bearing housing.

The VB45-S has a compact design with only a 0.625 in (15.88 mm) overall (axial) length, which allows for easy installation often without the need for equipment modifications.
