Federal-Mogul Powertrain Showcasing Engine Components Designed for Greater Durability, Efficiency at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Feb. 22, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Federal-Mogul Powertrain, a division of Federal-Mogul Holdings LLC, will showcase a range of industrial powertrain technologies at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017, March 7-11 in Las Vegas (Gold Hall, Booth G - 71807). The technologies include the company’s new Pokal industrial ignition spark plug technology, GOETZE® mud-resistant HSL-series face seals, DEVA® self-lubricating industrial bearings and GOETZE® industrial sealing rings, as well as the company’s Clevaflex® line of thermal management products.

“The innovations we’re showing at CONEXPO are designed to enable extended maintenance intervals, while at the same time, offer solutions for reduced environmental impact for our customers,” said Gian Maria Olivetti, Chief Technology Officer, Federal-Mogul Powertrain. “Helping customers meet future regulations and environmental targets while providing innovative solutions is a key part of our overall technology strategy.”

Key technologies on display at the show will include:

The global introduction of the Pokal Industrial spark plug, a new design with unprecedented mechanical and electrical strength based on a new “u”-shaped insulator core nose. The company’s expanded line of industrial ignition products will also be on display at CONEXPO, all of which provide robust solutions for industrial engines with high peak cylinder pressures, enabling longer service life and enhanced performance.

GOETZE® Industrial Sealing Rings for use in non-combustion applications, including rotating shafts or pistons in compressors, pumps, gearboxes or hydraulic and pneumatic applications. Constructed of cast iron, the rings offer excellent heat resistance and heat transfer properties and can be used as a solution to address high temperature, pressure or speed requirements. Diameters are offered from 12 mm up to 1,000 mm.

Bentley-Harris® Clevaflex® systems protection products that enable greater thermal management. The Clevaflex line of products are reflective corrugated tubes designed to provide thermal protection for engine components in radiant heat environments up to 600°C. Clevaflex products can be used on fuel and hydraulic lines, power steering hoses, heater/radiator hoses or any other components in close proximity to engine and exhaust systems. They are offered in tubular, slit, and notched constructions, depending on the application need.

DEVA® Self-lubricating Industrial Bearings provide outstanding self-lubricating and maintenance-free properties:

deva.metal® is a self-lubricating bearing material which features a uniformly micro-distributed solid lubricant-in-metal structure. The material is suitable for severe industrial operational conditions where heavy equipment requires grease-free sliding and has a very high resistance to temperature and corrosion.

deva.bm® is a thin-walled, self-lubricating composite sliding bearing material, capable of handling high loads and is applicable for large bridge and engineering equipment.

deva.tex® is a high performance self-lubricating sliding material with a glass-fiber-reinforced backing layer. The sliding layer consists of fibers which are embedded in epoxy resin, and incorporates PTFE as a lubricant for excellent tribological performance.

deva.glide® material consists of a highly wear-resistant copper cast alloy and self-lubricating plugs. The high density of the bronze ensures high stability under load coupled with solid dirt particle embedding properties into the lubricant plugs.

GOETZE® HSL Face Seals are an evolution of the company’s proven square bore series face seals used to seal critical components within axles for off-highway equipment and similar applications. They incorporate a dirt excluder lip within the design, which sets a new standard in the protection of sensitive components operating in wet, muddy conditions. The new seal increases resistance against mud packing that could otherwise lead to subsequent leakage when particles are pressed into the gap between the seal rings, further extending its service life.
